Welcome to Zhangjiajie. On arrival, your guide will meet you and then transfer you to your hotel.
It is about 1hour from the city center to Zhangjiajie Scenic Area. A shuttle bus takes you about 10 minutes to Yangjiajie after arriving at the National Park. You will take the cable car up to the top and then visit Natural Great Wall, which offers an amazing view. And then continue to Yuanjiajie Area by shuttle bus. These majestic peaks are truly worth a visit, such as Backyard Garden, Puzzling (Mihun) Crag, the First Bridge, and the famous Nantian Pillar that is the filming location of the Hallelujah Mountain in “Avatar.”
And then walk to the Upper Station of Bailong Elevator; take the highest elevator in the world to go down the hill. This is one of the most popular sites in the area, so you will be ready to queue for it.
Overnight in the Wulingyuan
Boating on the Baofeng Lake is utter relaxation whether on a sunny or rainy day.
Here is the filming location of “The Journey to the West”, which is adapted from one of the Four Great classical Chinese novels. It will take you about 2 to 3 hours to visit. Next, about 40 minutes’ drive takes you to Zhangjiajie Grand Canyon.
There are many legends about Zhangjiajie Grand Canyon; it holds an important strategic position in history, and as such has attracted millions of travelers over the centuries.
Zhangjiajie Grand Canyon
It is renowned for its fully transparent glass-bottomed bridge, which is the longest and highest bridge in the world. It is about 430 meters long and 6 meters wide, and accommodates about 800 people at the same time. The bridge also functions as a bungee jumping table, slide way and stage. Stunning as the view is, visitors tend to get sweaty palms.
Overnight downtown.
This exciting experience will start with taking the longest cable way in the world to the Tianmen Mountain. At that moment, you will have a panoramic view of Tongtian Avenue. Then continue by taking a short cable way to the Tianmen Mountain Temple, and go to the plank road alongside Guigu Cliffs. In this way, you will save much time and energy.
Walk across the breathtaking Glass Trail, and then you will hike about 30 minutes to Tianmen Cave.
The Tianmen Cave is representative of the highest natural mountain-penetrating karst cave in the world. It is located on the cliff at 1,300 meters above Sea Level. In the ancient time, it was used as a Buddhist center for prayer and blessing. Nowadays, it is an enchanting place where a lot of miracles have taken place. Aerobatic flight and free climbing have been performed here.
Tianmen Mountain
Go down the hill by shuttle bus, and return downtown. Your driver will take you to the airport.
