The Hongyan Revolutionary Memorial Hall is located by the Jialing River in Yuzhong District, Chongqing. The scenic spots mainly include 25 revolutionary sites such as the former site of the Southern Bureau of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China and the Chongqing Office of the Eighth Route Army, No. 50 Zengjiayan, Guiyuan Garden, the office guest house, the General Office of Xinhua Daily, and the Exhibition Hall of the Hongyan Revolutionary Memorial Hall. Great proletarian revolutionaries such as Mao Zedong, Zhou Enlai, and Deng Yingchao successively worked and lived here.

This hall is an important patriotic education base in China and also a first-class museum in China. It displays the revolutionary history of Hongyan. Through a large number of cultural relics and historical materials, it vividly presents the heroic deeds of the Communists who persisted in the struggle in Chongqing at that time, which is of great educational significance.

At the entrance of the square, there is a huge red stone engraved with the word "Hongyan". On the left side of the square, there is a group sculpture depicting Chairman Mao's arrival in Chongqing. Directly opposite is the Hongyan Revolutionary Memorial Hall, which has a red exterior wall and a square-shaped, bucket-like structure.

The Hongyan Revolutionary Memorial Hall is mainly divided into two exhibition halls. The exhibition hall titled "Eternal Hongyan" mainly narrates the history of the Southern Bureau of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China as it fearlessly carried out its work in Chongqing despite hardships. A large number of precious revolutionary cultural relics are on display here, including letters and the printing press of Xinhua Daily. The second exhibition hall, "The Spirit of Hongyan Shines Forever", mainly introduces the glorious deeds of the martyrs of Hongyan.

It has two floors in total, with over ten rooms open for visitors. The former site was the command center of the Communist Party of China in the Kuomintang-controlled area. Here, the living and working places of the older generation revolutionaries such as Zhou Enlai, Dong Biwu, and Ye Jianying during the the Anti-Japanese War have been restored, and there are also exhibitions of some items they used. Moreover, you can see the manuscript of Mao Zedong's "Qinyuanchun • Snow", learn about the life stories of the Eighth Route Army, and appreciate the demeanor of the great revolutionaries.

Guiyuan Garden

This is Guiyuan Garden, where the "Double Tenth Agreement" was signed. When you step into the courtyard, you can see two osmanthus trees with trunks as thick as a bowl in front of the main building of the courtyard. Every autumn when they are in bloom, the entire courtyard is filled with a rich and fragrant aroma, and that's how Guiyuan Garden got its name.

The main building of Guiyuan Garden is located in the center of the small courtyard. It is a two-story Western-style building made of brick and wood, with an area of about 200 square meters and a floor area of 489 square meters. By visiting Guiyuan Garden, you can learn about the background, process, and significance of the momentous historical event of the Chongqing Negotiations, and directly experience the complex political situation and historical atmosphere at that time.

Rao Guomo was a great patriotic Chinese woman. Her former residence is a small red building with a brick-wood structure that combines Chinese and Western styles. It covers an area of about 70 square meters, with a floor area of 180 square meters and a total of 10 rooms. From the outside, it looks like two floors, but it actually has three floors inside. The staircases to each floor are hidden in a room and are extremely secluded. Of course, you can come here to explore this miraculous structure in person.

The Gele Mountain Revolutionary Memorial Hall mainly includes 21 cultural relic sites and scenic spots such as the former site of the Baigongguan Detention Center, the former site of the Zhazidong Detention Center, the large-scale group sculpture "The Noble Spirit Lives On", the Hongyan Soul Exhibition Hall, the Hongyan Soul Square, General Yang Hucheng's martyrdom site on Songlinpo, the secret prison in Yangjiashan, the Jiang Family Courtyard, the "April 1st" Library, the Meteorological Observatory, and the Wolfdog Room.
