Chongqing Zoo is a 4A-level national scenic tourist area and a science popularization education base in China. All year round, more than 230 species of animals, totaling over 4,000 individuals, are exhibited in the zoo. It is a large urban zoo integrating multiple functions such as science popularization, animal protection, scientific research, and leisure and entertainment.

More than 80% of the animals in the zoo are rare and protected species. Among these animals, giant pandas, South China tigers, Asian elephants, rhinoceroses, golden monkeys, giraffes, red-crowned cranes, black swans and other animals are extremely popular with people.

Pandas

Yu Ke and Yu Ai"Yu Ke" and "Yu Ai"

Chongqing Zoo has 23 giant pandas on display, and 6 of them are pairs of twins. It is one of the city zoos with the largest number of giant pandas on display. Here, you can see many popular pandas, such as "Yu Ke" and "Yu Ai", who are already the "top attractions" among the many Internet-famous giant pandas in Chongqing Zoo. Among them, Yu Ke is a "mama's boy" who likes to act like a spoiled child; Yu Ai is independent and a bit rebellious. In the scenic area, you can also purchase lovely panda-themed souvenirs.

Birds Woods

The Birds Woods in Chongqing Zoo is an ecological and open bird exhibition area. In other words, you don't need to observe the birds through cages. There are blue peacocks and white, beautifully-feathered peacocks, as well as popular flamingos. More than 20 species of birds are exhibited here. Some of these birds can even be stroked by people and will accept the food in your hands. Here, you can also watch the exciting bird-show for free.

The Amphibians and Reptiles

The Amphibian and Reptile Museum currently houses and exhibits 25 species of animals with more than 300 individuals. The museum area is lush with trees, has flat lakeshores and pavilions. Here are raised the giant salamander whose cry is like a baby's, the brightly colored Burmese python, and the crocodile who likes to soak in the water and snore.

Inside the Goldfish House, a wide variety of goldfish present an array of fascinating postures, their colors resplendent and vivid. Beyond the charming fish, the Goldfish House is truly a classic of garden architecture. Its distinctive design, delicate layout, and lovely scenery create an entire courtyard that is elegant, peaceful, and richly imbued with the charm of Suzhou-style gardens.

Education Center

The Education Center is mainly composed of the Science Popularization Hall, the Animal Performance Field, and the Adorable Zoo. Here, you can learn about the popular science education of animals and plants, environmental protection education, as well as the interrelationship between human beings and nature by watching video materials, reading picture descriptions and viewing animal specimen displays. It is of great educational significance.

In addition, you can also visit the Ferocious Beast Area, the Primate Area and the Children's Activity Area. In particular, the Children's Activity Area is built on the basis of the Children's Paradise. The size and shape of the facilities and toys in the Children's Paradise are suitable for the interests and hobbies of children of different ages.
