Qiulin Kvass Centennial Cultural Center

There are three things you have to try when you visit the Qiulin Kvass Centennial Cultural Center. The first is Kvass. Kvass is a beverage made from the fermentation of dried bread. It has a mellow, tart and sweet flavor with a bread-like aroma. Qiulin Kvass is renowned for its Kvass. It was started in 1900 and has a hundred-year history. Thus, they built the Qiulin Kvass Centennial Cultural Center to commemorate its history. Here you can taste the most authentic Harbin Kvass and witness the making of the Kvass. Besides, visitors can also try Harbin's red sausage. Its meat is firm and the saltiness is moderate, not too salty. Visitors can stir-fry it or steam it. Of course, if they don't want too much trouble, they can also eat it directly. The last one is stone bread. It's shaped like a road-paving stone in Harbin. It doesn't look fancy on the outside, but the blend of butter and nuts inside gives a unique taste.

Shock Courtyard

Shock Courtyard

Shock Courtyard was the residence of Russian engineer Komtrad Shock in 1919 when he helped build Zhongyang Street in Harbin. To commemorate his contributions to Zhongyang Street, the place where he lived at that time was named after him. That's how Shock Courtyard got its name. In 2024, the Shock Courtyard was renovated. It has a classic vintage European decoration style and retains the original breadstone road.
