Hong Kong Taiping Mountain (Victoria Peak in English), is generally referred to as the "Peak of Taiping Mountain", and therefore it is simply called the Mountain Peak by Hong Kong people.
Victoria Peak is the highest mountain on Hong Kong island with an elevation of 552 meters. As early as the beginning of the nineteenth Century, Victoria Peak became the landmark for cargo ships to enter the port. In view of the hot and humid climate in Hong Kong, Victoria Peak has also naturally become a summer resort for many high-ranking officials and dignitaries.
Arriving at Victoria Peak, you can enjoy the beautiful scenery, especially when night falls. You can stand on the top of the peak and look around. Standing out among the lights of the houses, Hong Kong Island and Kowloon are like two shining jewels decorating Victoria Harbour. In the central district, there are even more tall buildings, which is very splendid.
The Peak Tower is a distinctive building in Hong Kong. Located on the Victoria Gap, which stands between Hong Kong Island Victoria Peak and the Mount Gough, it is also the terminal station for the Cable Car to the peak. It has an outstanding design but does not reduce the beauty of the mountain view. The highest point of the Peak Tower is 428 meters above sea level. Standing on the tower, you can see the scenery on both sides of the Victoria Harbour.
