The Great Wall Alternates Day and Night
Jinshanling Great Wall: this section is situated in Chengde City of Hebei Province; it is about 130km northeast of Beijing. The unspoiled sight earns the reputation of “the photographers’ paradise”. Its intense towers, exquisite architecture and the complete defense system have been preserved in original condition.
The Twenty-Four Eye House: the building is a square-based fortress in a unique style. Its name is derived from the six windows on each side of the house, totally twenty-four windows. With the passage of time, only the southwest part remains.
General Tower: This tower is a two-storied building, 10 meters in width and length. There are three arrow windows on each of the east and west sides, and four arrow windows on the north and south sides. The tower is still solid despite suffering from the fierce attacks in the Anti-Japanese War. However, the battlements of the roof have been destroyed.
Enjoy your breakfast and then go down the hill. Brimming with historical charm, the Gubeikou Great Wall will capture your imagination of ancient times. There are few tourists in this section. It is a boon for intrepid visitors to enjoy the magnificent view without the hordes of other tourists.
As the morning wears on, return to the gathering place. Finish this two-day hiking trip.
Sun Rise of the Great Wall
The Gubeikou Great Wall: it holds an important location between Shanhai Pass and Juyongguan Pass, and controls the key passage from Beijing to the northern plateaus. This section has been maintained with the original appearance of the Ming Dynasty.
