You are going to take a bullet train from Shanghai to Huangshan (the Yellow Mountains). It takes around 3 hours on the way.
Your tour guide will wait for you at the arrival hall of Huangshan Northern Railway Station. Upon your arrival, the tour guide and driver will pick you up and drive you about 1 hour to get to Hongcun Ancient Village. After the discovery tour in Hongcun, check in at your hotel and arrange dinner on your own.

Hongcun Ancient Village: With a history of more than 900 years old, Hongcun Ancient Village is called ‘village in the painting’. Because of the movie Crouching Tiger & Hidden Dragon, Hongcun has been well known by the world since 2000. The picturesque village has all of the elements of a traditional Chinese painting: local people, stone bridges, ancient architectures and quiet pools with fantastic reflections. It is also an ideal place for the students of painting to do their homework there.
Good to know: The round trip train tickets from Shanghai to Huangshan have been included in this tour package. We will deliver the train tickets to your hotel in Shanghai. If you need a transfer from the hotel to the train station in Shanghai, please feel free to contact your travel specialist.
Your guide will meet you at the hotel lobby after breakfast. You will spend about 1 hour to get to the Park of the Yellow Mountains by car. On arrival of the ticket office, you will take the shuttle bus up to Yungu cable car station. Get ready for a 15 minutes cable car ride up the mountain and start your exploration.
The Yellow Mountains: the Yellow Mountains is one of the top 10 mountains in China. It could be the easiest mountain to access from most of the big cities. Many people include it on their Bucket List, both domestic and international travellers. The Yellow Mountains is famous for its amazing rocks, the sea of clouds, hot springs and beautiful pine trees. Cable cars are available from the different directions leading to the top of the Mountain. Sunny and clear weather could be essential to admire the mountains at their best.

What’s the suggested hiking route on the Mountain?
You are going to take Yungu cable car to get to the top of the Mountain. Upon your arrival, walking about 40 mins to get to Beginning-to-Believe Peak, you can see the Umbrella Pine and Black Tiger Pine on the way. Beginning-to-Believe Peak is the best place to have a bird’s eye view of the small mountains and see lots of beautiful pine trees. Walk for about 20 minutes to your hotel, check in and have lunch there.

West Sea Grand Canyon is the highlight of your day. You will spend the whole afternoon to hike through the canyon. The further you hike the fewer people you will meet. If it’s too much for you, you can choose to hike the First Ring only, which takes about 2 hours.

The other option is to hike to the Second Ring and take a cable car up. The cable car costs CNY80 (US$13) per person, which is not included. After you get to the terminal cable car station, walk about 30 minutes to Paiyun Pavilion to see the gorgeous sunset. Back to your hotel and dinner is on your own arrangement.
The Steepness of the Yellow Mountains
Good to know: Travel light! The hiking tour on the Mountain could be a little bit tough if you take your suitcase with you. Prepare a backpack to carry your overnight staff onto the Mountain. Your tour guide will help you to store your big luggage at the foot of the Mountain. The storage fee is around CNY20 (US$4) per piece.
In the early morning, you can go to Shuguang Pavilion and see the sunrise. It’s the most recommended place to photograph the sunrise on the Mountain. After that, return to your hotel and have breakfast.
The Beautiful Sunrise and the Sea of Clouds
This morning, you can walk around the mountain if you have any places you want to go. Finally we suggest you to take a cable car down, drive about 1 hour and pay a visit to Tunxi which is located in the downtown of Huangshan City. You can walk around the Old Street, see the old architecture, shop around and take a little adventure by trying the local snacks.

Drive to the train station after lunch in a local restaurant. You will board on the return train to Shanghai.
