In mid-November:
It is quite chilly during mid-November. Please put on thermal underwear sets or fleecy leggings. Scarfs and hats can be useful too.

Where to Go and Travel Tips
In November, Beijing will usher in the beginning of winter. After the golden time in October, it will be a slack season in November. The weather outside will become colder and the AQI starts to rise as the heating systems come online at the end of this month. Although the view is not as beautiful as it was in autumn due to the growing cycle of plants, but the lower hotel prices and good traffic during the slack season make this month still a good time for travel.
Catch the last leaves of autumn in the Fragrant Hill Park, feel the desolation of late autumn in the Forbidden City, without the noisy festival, the atmosphere of late autumn makes people more poetic and peaceful. Beijing has plenty of nice museums. To avoid the cold weather, the National Museum of China, the Chinese Art Museum and the National Centre for the Performing Arts are good choices for learning Chinese culture.

Li Dong 立冬
"Li Dong" in Chinese means the beginning of winter. In the ancient time, people used divination methods to see the warmth and cold winter, such as "if the weather in Li Dong is sunny, the winter will be colder; if the weather in Li Dong is rainy, it will be a warm winter". The emperor would personally lead his ministers to the northern suburbs to "welcome winter". Read more about Six Solar Terms in Winter.
