This 5-day tour focuses on Lijiang Old Town and Lugu Lake in northern Yunnan Province. Lijiang is one of China’s most fascinating old towns. Its cobblestone lanes and traditional wooden buildings attract millions of visitors. Lugu Lake is famous for its breathtaking views and traditions of the Mosuo tribe.
You will be met and transferred to your hotel. The rest of the day is free. If time permits, you can explore Lijiang Old Town on your own.
Visit the Lion Hill Park and climb the Wangu Tower to have a panoramic view of Lijiang Ancient Town. Visit the Mufu Palace, the mansion for local Chieftain from 14th to 18th century. Then visit Shuhe Old town, nestled deep at the foothill of the Jade Dragon Snow Mountains. In the afternoon, visit Baisha village and murals, then proceed to Yuhu village to visit Joseph Rock's Former Residence. Dr. Rock is the Austrian-American author, geographer, linguist, and botanist who explored western China extensively in the 1920s and 30s.
You will travel to Lugu Lake, about 4.5 hours drive – where many ethnic minority groups live, visit the Caohai area and the Walking Marriage Bridge.
Continue the visit to Lugu Lake, then return to Lijiang.
Transfer to the airport or train station for your transportation leaving Lijiang.
