What to wear and bring

Early January
Wear a long-sleeved T-shirt or thermal underwear inside, a sweater or sweatshirt outside, and a jacket or light down jacket as the outer layer to keep warm and allow for easy movement. Wear your non-slip boots or sneakers. Scarves, hats, and gloves are good accessories for keeping warm in cold weather. Since Chongqing has a lot of rainy days in January, bring rain gear to deal with sudden rainfall.

Mid-January
Wear at least three layers. Start with a soft, natural, snug-fitting base layer or thermal underwear, then add woolen pullovers, and finish with a down jacket. Add more layers in worse weather.

Late January
For outerwear in mid-to-late January, you can choose a wool coat, a thick wool cardigan, a slightly thicker sweater, a wool dress, a leather jacket, or a medium-thick fleece jacket. For innerwear, you can wear a base shirt, a long-sleeved shirt, a thin long-sleeved sweater, or other medium-thick clothing. For the lower body, you can choose autumn corduroy pants or jeans. Remember to bring an umbrella or raincoat on rainy days, because there will be quite a lot of precipitation in January.
