What to wear and bring

Early February
During the initial ten days of February, the weather is extremely cold with precipitation like rain, sleet, and snow. Due to the frigid and adverse weather, it is strongly recommended that people wear warm and thick clothing, such as thick down jackets, fur coats, thermal sweaters, and warm woolen trousers. Don't forget to accessorize with snug scarves, gloves, and warm hats to keep out the bitter cold wind. Slip-resistant and waterproof shoes are also necessary to deal with the wet ground caused by snow and rain.

Mid-February
From mid-February onwards, the weather tends to be warmer and more pleasant. Mostly, there are a few days alternating between cloudy and sunny skies, with one or two occasional rain showers. Given this, it makes perfect sense to dress in layers. Start with a thin, long-sleeved undershirt and put on a medium-thick sweater. When it's cooler outside, add a light jacket or a thin down coat. When it gets warmer, any outer layers can be easily removed. Keeping an umbrella or a lightweight raincoat handy during this time is a smart move to deal with the rain.

Late February
During the last ten days of February, the temperature decreases. Rain, sleet, and snow frequently occur. We have to wear warm clothing, such as thick sweaters, warm coats, or down jackets. To keep warm and toasty underneath, thermal underwear will surely come in handy on such cold days. Due to rainy days, be sure to carry an umbrella along. The gusts of wind will make everything feel even colder, so windproof hats and gloves are very important items for adding warmth and protection.

Activities and Festivals

In February, Wuhan typically welcomes the grand traditional festival of the Spring Festival. According to the above weather information, during the Spring Festival, the weather in Wuhan is relatively mild, with temperatures ranging from 14℃ to 26℃. It is mostly cloudy or sunny, with occasional overcast or light rain. Traveling to Wuhan at this time allows you to experience the strong festive atmosphere. Lively temple fairs and dragon and lion dance performances can be seen everywhere. You can visit the Yellow Crane Tower and feel the blend of ancient charm and the spirit of the Chinese New Year in front of this iconic building. Stroll along Hubu Alley, taste special delicacies such as hot dry noodles and Doupi, and enjoy the unique hustle and bustle of Wuhan during the Spring Festival holiday.
